Ten years ago...

Ten years ago, Russ and I welcomed our first child into this world.

She's had her daddy wrapped around her little finger ever since.

She's brought joy into our house, and been the best daughter and oldest sister anyone could ask for.

She's in double digits now! Happy birthday! We love you, Sweet Pea!

Funny Things Kids Say.....

9/21/2009 We cleaned the church last night. When we finished cleaning the glass on the last door, Gage looked up at me with a huge smile and said, "Jesus would be SO proud!"
5/12/2009 We planted the garden for family night last night. This morning, Gage, McKinley and I went out to water the garden. As we walked up to the fence, Gage stopped, put one hand on his hip and waved the other in front of him as he said, "Mom, why isn't there any food out here?!?" Oh, how I wish gardening was that easy!
April 2009 McKinley: Mom, you know how our Christmas lights are still on our house? And you know how nobody else has their Christmas lights up? Well, I'm a little bit embarrassed about that. Could you take them down, please? (In my defense, we are in a north facing house and there was snow just last week. Also, Russ doesn't like me on the roof when he's not home in case I fall...and we're not home at the same time very often...they will be down soon, I hope, so McKinley isn't embarrased by her mom!)
4/15/2009 As we ate lunch today, Gentry was looking out the window and feeling sorry for Chancey, the pony, out in the snow. She said, "Mom, when I get older I'm going to invent a horse house." UUMMMM, isn't that called a barn, Gentry?!? The blonde in her rises to the surface from time to time!
3/4/2009 Gage: Mom, can you buy me a fireplace for my room? Mom: Why do you need a fireplace? Gage: So I can sit next to it while I'm reading.
2/28/2009 Gage: Dad, can I bowwow (borrow) the car? (He asked with the keys in his hand.)
2/9/2009 McKinley, while talking about what Valentine's means with her preschool class: A heart means you love your daddy.
2/7/2009 McKinley: If Chancey doesn't like the hay we feed her, she can just call the pizza delivery man. She can use her hooves to dial.
2/1/2009 Gage: Can we go to the store and buy a warm toilet seat? Ours is too cold.
1/22/2009 Oaklee, while watching me cook dinner: Oaklee: Are you going to put cheese on the broccoli? Mom: Yes Oaklee: What a waste of good cheese. (Anyone who know Oaklee knows her affinity for all types of cheese. Apparently, she dislikes broccoli as much as she loves cheese.)
1/18/2009 Gentry, while watching T.V.: These snuggie things are the stupidest things ever. Couldn't they just wear their coats backwards?!? (And yes, I tend to agree with her!)
1/8/2009 Gage: Mom, can you buy me a jetpack? Mom: What is a jetpack? Gage: You know, one of those things you put on your back so you can fly in the air and hit your head on the ceiling. Mom: I don't know where I would buy something like that! Gage: I'll just ask Santa. He'll know.
1/6/2009 Gage, while picking out which pajamas to wear to bed: Those pajamas are so last year. I would never wear them! Either he has three older sisters, or he watches too much t.v. I'm leaning towards a combination of the two.
