She Shoots, She SCORES!

Gentry, Oaklee, and McKinley play soccer in Orem. Gentry and Oaklee have played for a couple of years now, but this was McKinley's first year to have a go at it. She looks adorable in her shirt that is more of a dress and the soccer shorts that I had to take in at the waist. A lot.

Both Gentry and Oaklee are good players because they understand a little bit more about the game, but bless McKinley's heart, at least she tries hard! And it's not that she doesn't have the desire to kick the ball more, it's that she has such short little legs compared to the rest of the girls on the team. By the time she runs to where the ball is, someone else has kicked it and her chase for the ball begins again.

The season is split up into a fall and spring season. Gentry started the spring season with a bang, scoring 4 goals in the first game. Oaklee followed it up at the second game with a goal of her own, but poor McKinley was still scoreless. This has been a sore spot with McKinley, who wonders why she "couldn't have been born earlier, like Gentry and Oaklee".

Today it FINALLY happened! McKinley scored her first goal EVER! Talk about being in the right place at the right time! She is so proud of herself, and so are her mom and dad. I guess her sisters have taught her well! Go, Gardner Girls, GO!!!
