Why, oh, why do so many of my favorite things happen to be food/beverage items? *sigh* So I just discovered that one of our favorite gas stations, Common Cents, sells Icee's in refillable mugs.....for the same price as if I were to refill with my beloved Dr. Pepper. That's right, the SAME PRICE! For the last week or so, Russ has been battling a sore throat, so a cold Icee has been very appealing, especially since my 52 oz. mug can be refilled with the ice cold refreshment for less than a dollar. And to top it all off, the small kids size Icee's are only 29 cents this month. My kids think I'm the best mom in the world, since usually they just sit in the car and wait for me to refill my mug, knowing that there will be no rewards for them! Plus, it's been a great incentive--you know, "if you clean the entire house, feed the dogs and the horses, mommy will see if she can scrape up enough money to buy you all your very own Icee." It has worked very nicely to my advantage! In other words, Icee + Common Cents = heaven!
